Over a thousand years ago, the four greatest witches and wizards of the age shared a dream, to create a school where young people of the wizarding world could study and be trained in the magical arts they needed to become skilled, fully-trained wizards. These four great wizards each founded one of the Houses of the school that they worked together to form: Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Fifty-two years have passed since the defeat of Lord Voldemort by Harry Potter and his friends Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger. The rift that had once torn the houses of Gryffindor and Slytherin apart had been nearly forgot during the new generation of witches and wizards that had soon entrusted their magical training to the newly built Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. However peace can only last for so long.
An underlying row between several students within the castle wall are slowly undoing the friendly atmosphere that the other students are sharing with one another. Gryffindors and Slytherins are starting to become more prone to not only arguments, but duels against one another as well. Even the tensions between the Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws are starting to become noticed. Each house is slowly turning away from the other three houses.
The professors are becoming increasingly worried that this could lead to another War. Their soluation: The Founders’ Challenge.
Three champions from each of the four houses; all from different years; will be chosen at random to be resorted by the Sorting Hat and placed into the second choice house, but not base on family status; blood status; and personality alone. All are expected to follow and live up to the regulations and expectations imposed upon them by their new house and housemates for several months. All of this while earning points for their own original house.
However, a handful of the students aren't too thrilled about this new challenge to gain what is being lost. There are those that believe that this event is a waste of their time and effort as they try to sabotage the Professors' efforts. What will become of this group that is bent on keeping the rift going? What of the students that seem to be enjoying this new challenge and promote coming back together as one school?

**DMH does allow transfer students to Hogwarts since International Magical Cooperation is smiled upon especially after the Second War.
Adult Canons and Adult Original Characters such as parents and grandparents are highly welcomed as well. There are plenty of job positions opened for Adults; that also includes recent Hogwarts graduates.
In terms of those who have a unique heritage; witches and wizards that have Veela blood, have been bitten by a Werewolf, have the lycanthropy gene, or are Metamorphmagui are accepted. But note that these characters will be highly rare.
We are an AU Next Generation Era Site. There are plenty of Canon characters available. Of course, original characters are always welcomed since they add more dramatics to the site. The site itself is centered around a main plot, but is open to individual character sub-plots.
DMH is a site that has 250+ words per post requirement and a requirement for writing in third person rather than first person. The application for this site is fairly short and to the point.**
